BusinessEurope has launched its campaign for policy changes for the next EU political cycle, under the motto ‘Reboot Europe’. Commenting on the necessary actions for Europe in the upcoming years, BusinessEurope President Fredrik Persson emphasized the importance of competitiveness, stating, "Faced with multiple geopolitical risks and economic uncertainty, the EU must put competitiveness at the forefront and use the next EU cycle to reboot its policies for today’s challenges."

Persson highlighted the need for the EU to focus on improving its attractiveness as an investment location by implementing a fully-fledged Single Market strategy and pursuing an ambitious trade policy. He pointed out that while the EU is a significant player in global trade, its share in global exports is declining, indicating the urgency of revitalizing its trade strategies.

Furthermore, Persson stressed the importance of reevaluating the EU's approach to the green and digital transitions. He suggested complementing the Green Deal with an Industrial Deal to decarbonize without deindustrializing. Additionally, he emphasized the necessity of digitalizing in a human-centric manner by promoting investment in innovation and talent development.

In line with the campaign's objectives, BusinessEurope outlined key priorities for building a resilient European Union, including ensuring energy at affordable prices, implementing better and simpler regulations, promoting open and rules-based trade, creating more opportunities in the Single Market through technological innovation, and fostering talent development.
