Binance, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the establishment of the Binance Women in Technology Academy. This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Woman in Technology Association (Wtech) and aims to enhance financial literacy and equip women with the necessary tools to thrive in the crypto and Web3 sectors.
Participants in this program will undertake online courses on various subjects including financial literacy, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, as per a post on Binance's website. Beyond training sessions, students will engage in discussions around "financial technologies of our modern day," such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital wallets. The inaugural meeting of the Binance Woman in Technology Association was recently held.
Harika Eldoğan, Marketing Director of Binance Turkey, shared her views on this initiative. She said, "Binance is not just a cryptocurrency exchange; we are a technology company working to expand the blockchain ecosystem. The Binance Woman in Technology Association is one of our initiatives to help foster ecosystem growth. Due to overwhelming interest, we initially increased our capacity from 25 to 50 participants. We plan to continue this project throughout the year, reaching women across Turkey."
A female employee at Binance previously expressed her appreciation for the company's support towards its female workforce to Globe Banner. Particularly noteworthy was her experience working within a male-dominated field like cryptocurrency. "As a woman in crypto, it’s amazing to work at a place where female leaders are front and center," she said. She also mentioned that Yi He, co-founder of Binance, "has professionalized our unit and is someone I look up to every day."
Launched in 2017 according to CoinMarketCap data, Binance had recorded an approximate daily trading volume of $76 billion as of August 2022. This figure solidifies its position as the largest crypto exchange globally. Binance provides users with the ability to buy, sell, and store digital assets and lists over 350 tokens.
