Nextracker, a leading intelligent solar tracking and software company, has reached a significant corporate milestone. The firm announced this week that it has achieved its goal of operating or fulfilling 10 GW of smart solar trackers in the Middle East, India, and Africa.

The company made the announcement in a news release on December 12 during the COP28 Climate Change conference in Dubai. According to Nextracker, these trackers are employed in various solar projects across the region. In Saudi Arabia, they are used with ACWA Power; in the United Arab Emirates, they feature in the fifth phase of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park with Shanghai Electric and ACWA Power. In India, Nextracker's technology is utilized in projects with Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, Amara Raja Infra Private Limited, Rays Power Infra, among other developers. The company also maintains partnerships with manufacturing suppliers and factories in India. In Africa, tracker systems contribute to over one gigawatt of power across multiple locations.

"This is a region marked by a wide range of energy transition needs and opportunities," said Dan Shugar, Nextracker founder and CEO. "We're proud to have reached this significant milestone. We continue to invest in these markets with sales, engineering, and professional services teams to better serve our customers throughout the entire solar project lifecycle." Shugar added that the company remains focused on anticipating customer needs and delivering reliable solar tracker and software solutions.

According to information from their website, Nextracker's trackers and software solutions have generated enough energy to power 14.7 million homes annually while saving 112 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The company has maintained an average market share of 30% for seven consecutive years.

Hinde Liepmannsohn, executive director of the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA), praised Nextracker's commitment as a strategic partner for major development entities in the region. "From onsite project management and engineering support to systems designed for fast, easy installation with advanced software, technology, and robotic cleaning to optimize energy production, the Nextracker team continues to demonstrate the ability to bring measurable value and impact across the lifecycle of these mega clean-energy projects," Liepmannsohn said.
