AIT Worldwide Logistics has expanded its operations to the Middle East with a new office in the United Arab Emirates’ Dubai. The company’s global network currently is made up of 110 offices around the world.

“As a result, we are increasing overall transparency for our customers with business in and/or passing through the Middle East,” said Vice President of India and Middle East Vikram Paul. “Dubai’s location is unrivaled as a crossroads for global trade, and we are delighted to expand AIT’s footprint with this robust addition to the worldwide network.”

Paul will oversee the new office.

“The Dubai office enables consolidation of regional operations within the company’s global transportation management system,” a recent company news release stated.

The new addition forms part of AIT’s shipping investments as the global freight forwarder looks to leverage its supply chain solutions in the region.

Deemed a central consolidation and distribution point in the Eastern regions, AIT’s new Dubai location will prioritize services for shippers who transload freight from air to ocean or vice versa in the UAE. The country serves as one of the top-three trading partners with India, with a bulk of global cargo making its way through gateway cities, such as Chicago, Frankfurt, Germany and Hong Kong.

In addition to general air and ocean freight, AIT’s new establishment also will offer shipping for sensitive cargo and automotive materials.

To further support the expansion and AIT’s general global operations, the company’s Life Sciences Division has confirmed plans to partner with the Dubai office to set up critical temperature-controlled shipments at cold storage facilities in the Middle East for delivery destined for Africa.

“As AIT’s presence in the Middle East continues to expand, the company will leverage its global expertise in the government and aerospace fields by ramping up special services for those industries in Dubai,” the release added.
