Temperature-controlled industrial REIT and logistics solutions providers Lineage Logistics opened its new Southern Europe headquarters in Madrid, Spain on March 17, a press release reported.

“Spain is the door to Southern Europe and one of Europe’s main markets for fresh produce. Lineage has chosen to invest in our presence here to better meet the needs of our customers in Europe and worldwide,” Raul Fores Valles, regional vice president, Southern Europe, Lineage Logistics, said. “Our new offices in Madrid will help us to leverage our recent investments in transport and freight forwarding services to more efficiently connect customers to the world.”

The launch was made official at an event led by the company’s Southern Europe management team, U.S. executive team and board members from Lineage’s parent organization, Bay Grove.

The new establishment will help Lineage continue its investment efforts and expand its pool of connections in both, the Northern and Southern part of the region. The opening follows the September 2022 acquisition of Spanish transport and cold storage logistics provider, Grupo Fuentes.

The recent freight forwarding, transport fleets and fresh produce service additions will help Lineage connect Europe’s food supply chain, serving as a “one-stop shop” for customers.

“Lineage’s cutting-edge use of data, advanced cold chain technologies and network of strategic locations in Europe’s busiest ports help customers to optimize the movement of food products across the temperature-controlled supply chain,” a recent press release states.

Lineage initially began its operations in the European market in 2017, and has now expanded with more than 70 cold chain facilities across 11 European countries, including six facilities in Spain, two in Italy and three in France.

Its investments have been allocated toward a transport fleet connecting customers to offices in Northern Europe, as well as warehouse acquisitions in Navarria and Asturias from Frigoríficos de Navarra and Frioastur.

“Lineage has industry-leading expertise in end-to-end logistical solutions, an unrivaled real estate network and develops and deploys innovative technology,” a recent press release states. “This helps increase distribution efficiency, advance sustainability, minimize supply chain waste and most importantly, as a visionary partner of Feeding America, helps feed the world.”
