SmartBear recently appointed Nikki Morcom as the new vice president of global talent acquisition and culture. Based in the UK, Morcom will be tasked with carrying out its global hiring and multisite strategies, according to a press release.
“Our goal at SmartBear is to make our technology-driven world a better place, and that includes being committed to a smart hiring and promotion strategy and a culture that fosters retention,” chief people and culture officer at SmartBear, Veronica Curran, said.
In light of its expansion efforts, the company also promoted Christina McCollum to the role of head of ESG and diversity. She will be tasked with further developing the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) and diversity efforts.
The company also confirmed office openings in Somerville and Bath, as well as expansion into other unnamed locations, and employee recruitment.
With more than two decades of recruitment and staffing experience, Morcom most recently served as senior director, talent acquisition EMEA of UiPath before beginning her tenure with SmartBear five years ago. She is credited with founding the company’s ESG program in 2021.
Since launching its hiring and retention and global ESG initiatives in 2022, the company has welcomed hundreds of employees in an effort to carry out its global site strategy. The company also signed the Vista Climate Pledge as a commitment to set and work to target carbon emission goals.
The appointment also follows SmartBear’s partnership with Make-A-Wish, allocating $12,000 to the cause, and committing to a fundraiser. The company also offers support to Black Girls Code, AnitaB.org and other tech-related organizations.
“We also strive for ethical corporate practices and social responsibility, promoting good in all the communities we serve,” Curran said. “As we continue to grow and scale globally, it is a top priority at SmartBear to meet the demand for ESG initiatives that our leadership team, employees, partners and customers all want to see in the workplace. Welcoming Nikki to SmartBear will support our equitable people and culture goals and promoting Christina will allow us to support our sustainability initiatives every day.”
