Mondelēz International has reached an agreement with European gum and confectionery maker, Perfetti Van Melle Group to sell its U.S., Canada and Europe-based developed-market gum business, Food Dive reported.
“As we continue progressing our Vision 2030 focus and acceleration strategy, doubling down on our core snacking categories, we are pleased to transition our developed market gum business to a values-led, family-owned company whose portfolio is a strategic fit, and where our brands and people can thrive," Mondelēz CEO Dirk Van de Put said.
The company confirmed plans to continue operating its business in other markets. The gum brands included in the deal are Trident, Dentyne, Stimorol, Hollywood, V6, Chiclets, Bubbaloo and Bubblicious in the U.S., Canada and Europe, as well several European candy brands. The products will be added to a slate consisting of other global brands, including Mentos.
The agreement also mentions several facilities across Rockford, Illinois and Skarbimierz, Poland.
