OpenMetal recently introduced its cloud service in Europe through a data center footprint in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a press release reported.
"For decades, Europe has been a leader in open source development," said Todd Robinson, president of OpenMetal. "We are excited to open in the EU as OpenMetal was built to simplify access to the top open source cloud system, OpenStack. Customers will now be able to spin up private cloud resources in 45 seconds just like in our U.S. data centers."
The expansion will allow OpenMetal to offer its on-demand private clouds, which is operated on OpenStack, to its European clients.
Housing three of the largest internet exchanges, the new three-story facility, neighboring key undersea cable landing stations, will offer “redundancy and financial grade standard and incremental multi-tier security measures.”
By making its open systems more easily accessible, OpenMetal will attract the attention of the European market’s 3 million open source developers, with the Netherlands ranking among the highest in most accelerated growth.
