Cabbacis LLC, based in New York, was recently issued Patent No. 3,151,047 to manufacture blends of low-nicotine tobacco and hemp intended for vaporizer use by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, a press release reported.

“I am pleased that both types of our products are now patented in Canada, which is one of our early target countries for commercialization,” said Joseph Pandolfino, founder and president of Cabbacis.

The Canadian patent includes 27 claims, scheduled to expire on Sept. 10, 2040. Earlier this year, the company was granted Patent No. 3,107,796 for cigarettes made up of blends of low-nicotine tobacco and hemp.

Specializing in the development of U.S. federally-licensed tobacco product manufacturing, Cabbacis prioritizes the reduction of harm caused by the products.

The efforts to launch low-nicotine cigarettes, vaporizer pods, low-nicotine tobacco and hemp are being made to help smokers minimize their dependence on nicotine products, or quit usage altogether.

The company has now issued six patents across the United States, and 19 others in Europe, China, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Brazil, among other territories.
