B.I.G. Logistics has acquired privately-owned Xcell Logistic Services, Inc. and Xcell Logistics Corporation in Mexico, according to a press release.

B.I.G. Logistics is a third-party logistics provider and technology-enabled warehouse management platform with facilities throughout Texas and the Mexican border, according to a recent release.

"The acquisition of Xcell by B.I.G. Logistics signifies the importance of Xcell's presence in cross border market and will only catapult the company to higher success," Founder and Chairman of Xcell Logistics Companies Roberto Sosa said in a release.

Xcell Logistics Corporation, headquartered in Mexico City, is also a third-party logistics provider and customs broker with warehouses in Laredo, Texas, and has offices in critical Mexican ports, industrial cities and border crossings within the United States.

Together the companies offer a range of services like pharmaceutical-licensed temperature-controlled warehouses, container examination stations, operating and managing Foreign Trade Zone facilities and light manufacturing and e-commerce services. In addition, the newly combined companies offer the administration of international and domestic air, ocean, ground transport, customs brokerage and cargo protection.

"Year to date, Laredo represents 37% of trading between the U.S. and Mexico with a figure of $243.8 billion. For importers and exports on both sides of the border, Xcell Logistic Corporation in Mexico offers wide coverage of existing offices in all major ports of entry enabling cross-border, single turnkey solutions for our U.S.A. and global customers," Sosa said.

Among other comments, B.I.G. Logistics CEO Vinod Baliga said it is a privilege to welcome Sosa and the team to the B.I.G. Logistics family, adding that with the completion of their Texas footprint and Mexico locations, B.I.G. Logistics is positioned as a dominant supply chain logistics solutions provider on both sides of the border.
