Implanet Euronext Growth signed a distribution deal to develop its JAZZ range in China and a tech partnership with Sanyou Medical, according to a press release.

“In continuation of the capital increase we completed with the support of Sanyou Medical, we are proud to further strengthen the strategic partnership between our two groups, this time on a commercial and technological level,” Ludovic Lastennet, Implanet’s CEO, said. “The distribution agreement we signed will enable us to market our entire JAZZ® range in China, the world's largest market, and for which the regulatory files are already being initiated with the Chinese health authorities. On the technological side, this agreement enables us to leverage our respective expertise by jointly developing a new and innovative range of fixation systems for the Western markets. Lastly, the reconciliation we are making today with one of the largest manufacturers of medical devices in China will give us rapid access to leading technologies and know-how in the field of spinal surgery.”

The deal serves as an extension of a successful collaboration between the two companies, credited with achieving capital increases. Outlined this past summer, the terms of the collaboration are split into two fields, commercial and technological.

The terms of the agreement will require Sanyou Medical to distribute Implanet's JAZZ® platform in China. The registration of Implanet's proprietary JAZZ® range registration with the Chinese health authorities is also under development.

China is deemed one of the largest surgery markets, credited with performing approximately 15,000 pediatric scoliosis surgeries and 750,000 adult surgeries per year.

“The technological alliance between Implanet and Sanyou Medical will enable the synergy of the two groups' technological know-how and R&D in order to accelerate their product innovation policy,” a recent press release explains. “This partnership aims to jointly develop a brand-new European hybrid fixation system range, incorporating the very latest developments and innovations in the field of spine surgery.”
