The Flex Co., based in California, recently kicked off its international expansion in Canada, according to a press release.

The launch will consist of the company’s best-selling products, Flex Cup™ and Flex Disc™, now accessible in over 1,000 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix locations nationwide, and on online retailers, shoppersdrugmart.ca and Amazon.

"After manufacturing over 100 million menstrual discs in Ontario over the last six years, we're thrilled to be expanding Flex manufacturing capabilities to support a national retail and eCommerce launch in Canada," Lauren Schulte Wang, founder and CEO of The Flex Co., said.

The launch follows a six-year collaboration with an Ontario-based medical device manufacturer.

“They've been integral to Flex's success in the North American market,” a recent press release states.

Flex Disc™ is credited with creating 60% less waste than its peer period products, and Flex Cup™, the first and only menstrual cup with a patented pull-tab.

Manufactured in Canada and the U.S., both products are packed in recyclable and compostable wrapping. Made of 100% body-safe medical-grade materials, the product has been cleared from Toxic Shock Syndrome, and can be worn safely for 12 hours.

“Unlike tampons, Flex products are made from 100% body-safe medical-grade materials, so they do not disrupt the vagina's natural flora, pH balance or promote the growth of toxic bacteria,” a recent press release explains. “They address period pain points like cramping, leaking, odor and the desire to enjoy mess-free period sex.”
