Emerson unveiled plans to sell the entirety of its Russian business, including Russia-based manufacturing subsidiary, Metran, and the sales and service organization for Metran, Russian-based Emerson LLC, to its local management team, a press release reported.

“The transaction will be subject to regulatory and government approvals, and other customary closing conditions,” a recent press release reads. “Emerson will work closely with the local Russia management team to help ensure a smooth transition for employees through the process.”

The move to divest Russian-based operations follows the company’s decision to exit Russia altogether and explore alternative strategic options to transition Metran’s housing.

In 2021, Russia made up approximately 1.5% of Emerson’s total sales.

Despite the gains accumulated in the country over the years, the company’s departure has resulted in a pre-tax loss of $162 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2022.
