Bunge Limited recently finalized the sale of its Mexico-based wheat mills to local company, Grupo Trimex, according to a press release.

“At Bunge, our purpose is to connect farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed and fuel to the world,” a recent press release states. “With more than two centuries of experience, unmatched global scale and deeply rooted relationships, we work to put quality food on the table, increase sustainability where we operate, strengthen global food security and help communities prosper.”

Bunge's current plans post-transaction is to continue operating its corn mill in Querétaro and fulfill the oil and meal demand of its domestic customers.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, the company has now expanded to more than 300 facilities across more than 40 countries. It is represented by approximately 23,000 employees.

“As the world’s leader in oilseed processing and a leading producer and supplier of specialty plant-based oils and fats, we value our partnerships with farmers to improve the productivity and environmental efficiency of agriculture across our value chains and to bring quality products from where they’re grown to where they’re consumed,” a recent Bunge press release reads.
