Natreve, based in Canada, has recalled several batches of its Vegan Protein Powder French Vanilla Wafer Sundae flavor after finding trace amounts of undeclared milk following an external manufacturing production error, a press release reported.
“A whey-derived flavoring ingredient was inadvertently used in the blend for Natreve Vegan Protein Powder French Vanilla Wafer Sundae flavor, leading to trace amounts of whey being found in the above batches,” a press release states. “Whey is derived from milk and may trigger an allergy, posing a potential risk to people with milk allergies.”
Natreve decided to pull the products off the shelf to protect its consumers from potential allergic reactions to them. The global premium wellness company confirmed that the affected products were only sold in the USA, in retail locations and online.
The lot codes associated with the affected batch of Natreve Vegan Protein Powder French Vanilla Wafer Sundae flavor are 10 servings of Lot# 46359, Best Before Date: 2/2025 and 18, 10 servings of Lot# 46360, Best Before Date: 2/2025.
“The impacted products are stored in 13 oz (10 servings) and 1.47lb (18 servings) white tubs and lot codes can be found at the bottom of each tub,” the press release explains.
An investigation was launched by the contract manufacturer, who determined the problem to be a production process error for these two impacted lots. No other product offering was impacted by this voluntary recall. So far, one illness has been reported.
