Stewart on being named SVP: 'I'm looking forward to working with this diverse, experienced and knowledgeable team'

NFP recently hired Canada-based executive John Stewart to serve as senior vice president and surety leader, according to a press release. The appointment was confirmed by managing director, Technical Risk Construction Surety Natural Resources, NFP in Canada, Guy Jolicoeur.

Under his new role, Stewart will lead the insurance broker and consultant’s surety business development in Canada while establishing a nationwide surety team to take on contract and commercial bonding needs. 

"John is an excellent addition to NFP and a highly motivated and results oriented leader," Jolicoeur said in the release. "His strong background analyzing financial statements, legal documents and qualitative reports to provide surety bond underwriting insights and recommendations will provide an exceptional resource for our clients and surety team."

The executive previously contributed to various underwriting and leadership roles at Liberty International Underwriting/Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and Ally Financial Inc. The executive also worked for NFP from Allianz Trade in North America as a senior underwriter.

The University of Michigan graduate also obtained an associate degree in Fidelity and Surety Bonding designation from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.
