ASM Global recently partnered with Olympia London to help add touches of improvement as the venue undergoes major structural changes.

“We are proud to partner with Olympia London, Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International on this amazing and historic venue, positioning it at the forefront of the industry for the next 100 years,” ASM Global president and CEO Ron Bension said.

ASM Global will oversee all management, exhibition and business-related aspects of the event. The collaboration with the world-class conference and its hospitality facilities serves as an expansion into the European market for the company, while also internationally publicizing the event.

A recent press release from ASM Global stated the restructuring plans Olympia has in mind include the making of a 1,575-seat performing arts theater, a creative arts school and a music venue with a 4,400 capacity. More than two acres of new space will be added, as well as two hotels. Approximately 100,000 square feet of the venue will be allocated to restaurants and bars, and 550,000 square feet to offices. The redevelopment process is scheduled to conclude in 2024.

The purpose of the reconstruction is to transform the venue into a one-stop-for-all attraction with “art, culture, education, entertainment, exhibitions, music, state-of-the-art offices and some of the best food and drink in town,” the press release stated.

Olympia is now considered a “cultural and architectural landmark,” the press release stated. After decades of growth following its launch in 1886, it has grown to host an average of 200 events per year, attracting more than 1.6 million visitors per year.

It now forms part of ASM Global’s catalog of venues, which now counts more than 300 worldwide, including the L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, Darling Harbor in Sydney and OVO Arena Wembley in London, among numerous others.

In addition to its exhibition and convention centers based in Chicago, China and the U.K, the California-based venue management and live event production company serves 20,000 events and more than 165 million guests each year.

“Our commitment to guest and partner satisfaction aligns with the reputation of Olympia London, and we look forward to continuing to serve existing and new clients’ event schedules at Olympia London and developing the program with other signature events,” Bension said.
