Los Angeles-based Herbalife Nutrition has opened a new $5 million service center in India.
Located in a suburb of Bangalore, India, the 154,697-square-foot Global Business Services Center will house a laboratory, innovation center, research and development and more, a news release said.
"Due to substantial growth in India over the last 12 years, our employee base has grown from 30 to more than 900 employees, and we expect it to grow to approximately 1,500 over the next five years," Herbalife Chief Operating Officer Mark Schissel said in the release. "Our new facility will allow us to better serve the local market and the world by meeting the growing demand for our trusted nutrition products."
The facility will support the company's international and local growth. In 2021, Herbalife's growth in India saw a year-over-year net sales growth of 49%.
The Global Business Services Center will house offices and laboratories that support product development that meets Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
The facility will house one of Herbalife's 10 global laboratories and serve as one of the company's largest technology hubs.
Established in 1980, Herbalife offers its health and nutrition products to consumers in over 90 countries across the globe.
