Morse Micro adds to executive sales team in 'strategic APAC region'

A semiconductor organization that reinvents Wi-Fi announced Feb. 16 the expansion of its footrpint in Asia.

Morse Micro added three executive sales team members to its Asia team to support customers in Taiwan, China, Korea, and Japan, according to a company press release.

"This is an important milestone in Morse Micro’s international growth and reflects the rate at which customers across the Asia-Pacific region are adopting Wi-Fi HaLow for a host of low-power, long-reach Internet of Things applications,” Co-Founder and Morse Micro CEO, Michael De Nil, said in the release. “The collective breadth of experience of these new members to the Morse Micro team will help increase our customer base and market penetration in the strategic APAC region as we look to grow our global presence as a market leader in innovative Wi-Fi certified HaLow solutions.”

The company’s comprehensive portfolio includes the industry’s smallest, fastest and lowest power IEEE 802.11ah compliant SoCs, the release stated. Some of Morse Micro's Wi-Fi technology can deliver tens of megabytes per second throughput to support streaming high-definition video.

The newest members of Morse Micro are Vice President of Business Development and Country Manager of Korea, Derek Park; Country Manager of Taiwan and Greater China, Eddie Chang; and Country Manager of Japan, Kenji Tanaka, according to the release.

Park has 25 years of semiconductor and telecommunication experience and has held positions in product marketing and sales at NXP Semiconductors, Broadcom and InvenSense, the release stated. Chang has 15 years of Wi-Fi chip sales experience in Taiwan and China.

Tanaka has more than 25 years of experience in semiconductor sales in Japan and the United States at Microchip Technology and Wolfspeed, according to the release.
