Non-profit physical sciences publisher, AIP Publishing, recently entered a three-year Read and Publish Agreement with MALMAD, the Israeli Inter-University Center for Digital Information Services.

The deal serves as AIP Publishing's second Read and Publish Agreement in the Middle East, according to a Feb. 3 press release. The agreement launched in January and is scheduled to run through 2024.

"AIP Publishing is proud to partner with MALMAD," Penelope Lewis, AIP Publishing's chief publishing officer, said in the release. "The agreement creates new possibilities for researchers across Israel's prestigious scientific community to increase the accessibility of their work through open access publishing in AIP Publishing's journals."

Eight academic members of the MALMAD consortium are set to contribute to the collaboration, the release stated.

"With this new transformative agreement, MALMAD is delighted to be expanding opportunities for researchers across Israel's universities," Dr. Sigal Lahav Scher, MALMAD's director, said in the release. "This agreement enhances our support of the physical sciences community by enabling our researchers to publish open access in some of the most renowned journals in the field."
