A global sports streaming platform will partner with Snapchat to bring worldwide boxing content to online viewers 24/7.
"DAZN Fight Week," a new DAZN boxing show that premiered Aug. 31 on Snapchat, will release a minimum of 18 new episodes throughout the year to build momentum leading up to the big fights, according to a DAZN news release.
"It all kicks off with the upcoming Sept. 4 event featuring a rematch in which British warrior Josh Warrington will look to exact revenge against Mexican sensation Mauricio Lara, while earlier in the night, Irish star Katie Taylor will defend her undisputed crown against determined American underdog Jennifer Han in the co-main event," the release said.
The content will include fight highlights, behind-the-scenes footage and original features, DAZN said in the release.
"This partnership is another example of DAZN constantly striving to reach fresh audiences in innovative ways, as part of a wider mission to engage new fans on the channels they frequent most while growing the sport of boxing globally," DAZN Executive Vice President Joseph Markowski said in the release. "Snapchat is the perfect partner for DAZN to team up with in order to tap into a new generation of potential boxing fans, who we cannot wait to see instantly fall in love with the sport. Whether it’s fight night highlights, behind-the-scenes videos or ranking the greats, these new shows will be the place for Snapchatters to follow the best of boxing worldwide."
According to DAZN, recurring segments include "The Champ is Here," ranking the greatest-of-all-time boxing champions; "Fight ZN," a boxing news show that updates viewers on fight results, fight camp developments and weigh in recaps; and "Talk Your ****!" sound compilations from sound bites and trash talks from the week.
DAZN Fight Night launches Sept. 4, after a short-term contract in 2019 that engaged millions of Snapchatters. Viewers can expect to see a minimum of 70 worldwide episodes this year alone, the release said.
