OpenLegacy and Standard Charter Bank Korea (SCB), have integrated their services to provide a better online experience for consumers.

Through the partnership, SCB will be able to provide an online banking option for its customers.

"As the bank embarks on a digital journey to modernize our platforms, it is critical that we leverage new technologies to ensure we stay relevant in this competitive space. We are excited to partner with OpenLegacy to bring next-level digital integration for our banking services in South Korea," Jason Ki, SCB Korea's senior vice president of technology and innovations, said in a press release on BusinessWire

OpenLegacy, based in Princeton, New Jersey, has API capabilities that are the new driving force behind SCB's online presence, the release said. APIs or application programming interfaces are software that allow two applications to connect and communicate to play their critical roles in online banking.

Joseph Wong, general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan at OpenLegacy, said in the release, 'We're delighted to team up with Standard Chartered to better serve their customers. The power and speed of our API solution was well demonstrated in a difficult operating environment during the pandemic. We look forward to growing the partnership throughout Asia."

As internet-based services become more common in the modernized digital age, SCB looks forward to the opportunity to extend its enhanced services to both customers as well as other business partnerships, the release said.
