Senior officials from central banks, financial authorities, and regulatory bodies across the Americas gathered in Bermuda for a meeting of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Regional Consultative Group. The event highlighted Bermuda’s role as an important center for the insurance industry.
During the meeting, participants focused on issues facing the insurance sector. Private-sector representatives contributed their views on how insurance can help address climate protection gaps and adapt to changes in the global life insurance market.
The group also discussed broader topics such as financial vulnerabilities at both global and regional levels. Other agenda items included artificial intelligence applications in finance and ways that authorities can develop strong frameworks to detect, prevent, and recover from cyber-related incidents.
