Representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Colombia will visit Bogota, Medellin, and Pereira to provide services related to U.S. Social Security and other federal benefits.
The services will be available at the Centro Colombo Americano in each city. In Bogota, representatives will be present from January 13 to January 16, 2026. The same dates apply for Medellin and Pereira. Service hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday through Thursday, and from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday.
A limited number of tickets for these services will be distributed each day at the entrance on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals can drop off completed and signed Foreign Enforcement Questionnaires (SSA forms 7162/7161) during service hours without an appointment; this is available for Social Security numbers ending in 50-99.
Visitors who wish to change their direct deposit information should bring form SSA-1199-OP69 along with valid photo identification. Those applying for Social Security benefits need to bring both original and copy of their birth certificate and U.S. passport; if applying as a spouse for auxiliary or survivor’s benefits, marriage and death certificates are also required in original and copy. For those seeking a Social Security Number card, an original and copy of the birth certificate, U.S. passport, and completed SS-5FS form are necessary.
