The United States has delivered its 16th shipment of food assistance to Uzbekistan, continuing a long-standing partnership in health and humanitarian support. The latest consignment includes 131 metric tons of lentil and vegetable mix fortified with vitamins and minerals. Valued at $448,000, the shipment is expected to provide 6.6 million meals for more than 32,000 people.

Distribution of the food will be managed by Sog’lom Avlod Uchun, reaching over 50 health institutions throughout Uzbekistan. Recipients include tuberculosis and mental health facilities that serve children, elderly individuals, and other vulnerable populations facing low food security.

A representative from the United States stated: "Today, the United States celebrated the handover of its 16th shipment of food assistance to Uzbekistan, made possible by the generosity of the American people, continuing long-standing cooperation in health and humanitarian support."

Since 2010, over 1,800 metric tons of enriched food support have been provided by the United States to Uzbekistan. This aid is valued at more than $5 million and has resulted in nearly 91 million meals distributed to those most in need across the country.
