Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker is set to visit India from December 7 to 11, with scheduled stops in New Delhi and Bengaluru. The visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the United States and India, enhance economic and commercial relations, and promote cooperation in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and space exploration.
In New Delhi, Under Secretary Hooker will engage with senior Indian officials on topics including regional security, economic collaboration, and shared objectives in the Indo-Pacific region. These discussions will include Foreign Office Consultations with India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
During her time in Bengaluru, Hooker plans to visit the Indian Space Research Organisation. She will also meet leaders from India’s space, energy, and technology industries. The focus of these meetings is to encourage innovation through U.S.-India research partnerships and explore possibilities for broader cooperation.
"Under Secretary Hooker’s visit marks another step forward in advancing President Trump’s priorities for a strong U.S.-India partnership and a free and open Indo-Pacific," according to the official statement.
The trip underscores ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen ties across security, trade, and technological development.
