Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has been recognized by the British Standards Institution (BSI) for its ongoing efforts in sustainability, receiving the ESG Sustainable Development “Pilot Award” for the sixth consecutive year. The company has focused on addressing climate change impacts within the financial sector and aligning its operations with international sustainability standards.
The BSI’s annual awards highlight companies that demonstrate leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. The “Pilot Award” is presented to organizations showing long-term commitment to sustainable governance and serves as a recognition of their example-setting role. According to BSI, these awards are given based on practical achievements in moving toward net-zero emissions and implementing sustainability measures.
Yuanta FHC began publishing its sustainability report ahead of regulatory requirements in 2014 and has continued this practice for eleven years. These reports include publicly disclosed objectives, progress updates, third-party verifications, and stakeholder communications. In 2024, Yuanta FHC’s Climate and Nature-Related Financial Disclosures Report adopted indicators from the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S2 Climate-Related Disclosures. For three consecutive years, this report has received BSI’s highest compliance rating: “Level 5+ (Excellence).”
The company stated it aims to be "an international benchmark enterprise for sustainability," integrating net-zero goals into daily operations and business decisions. Yuanta FHC is working toward Taiwan’s target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 through sustainable financial products, responsible investment strategies, low-carbon operations, and promoting sustainable supply chains. It also announced plans for a Sustainable Development Strategy Roadmap covering 2026 to 2030.
"With the increasing impact of extreme weather on the world’s population and environment, sustainability has become an indispensable cornerstone of business operations and the key to resilience," according to BSI.
Yuanta FHC said it will continue using internal and external resources to further its sustainable development initiatives.
