The U.S. State Department has allocated $5 million to UNICEF to support nutrition programs for children in Northwest Nigeria. The funding aims to assist at least 70,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition by providing ready-to-use food, medicine, and other humanitarian supplies.

According to the announcement, "These funds will be used by UNICEF to provide ready-to-use food, medicine, and other humanitarian supplies. This commitment to donate lifesaving assistance affirms U.S. global leadership, strength, and compassion."

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to address malnutrition among vulnerable populations in Nigeria's northwest region.
