The United States has taken over the presidency of the Group of 20 (G20) as of December 1, 2025. According to a statement from the Office of the Spokesperson, President Trump will lead efforts to return the G20 to its central purpose: "driving economic growth and prosperity to produce results."

The U.S. outlined three main priorities for its term. These include reducing regulatory burdens to promote economic prosperity, improving access to affordable and secure energy supply chains, and advancing new technologies and innovations.

The country is set to host the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Miami, Florida, which coincides with the 250th anniversary year of the United States.

Further information about the G20 can be found on its official website.
