The U.S. Mission Nigeria has introduced a nationwide social media contest called “Made in America, Loved in Nigeria,” aiming to highlight the influence of American products, brands, and ideas within Nigerian communities. The initiative runs from December 1 to December 8, 2025, and encourages young Nigerians to create short skits that showcase how U.S. innovations and culture impact daily life and contribute to areas such as business, education, technology, creativity, and community development.
Participants are required to produce original vertical videos lasting up to 90 seconds. These skits should creatively depict the role of American tools or concepts in Nigeria. Entries must be posted publicly on YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram with a tag to @USinNigeria. Contestants are also encouraged to use the hashtags “#MadeInAmericaLovedInNigeria” and “#TradeThatTransforms” when sharing their videos across social media platforms.
Eligibility for the contest is limited to Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 45 who reside in Nigeria. Each participant must submit only original content along with an official entry form and a signed eligibility and release form. All submissions will be pre-screened for compliance with contest rules before being evaluated based on creativity, relevance to the theme, storytelling quality, technical execution, and audience engagement.
Winners will be announced on December 12, 2025 via U.S. Mission Nigeria’s social media channels. Prizes include creative media equipment such as Sony A7 IV creative bundle cameras, Sony A7 III cameras, iPhone 16 smartphones paired with handheld gimbals, mentorship opportunities, and features on U.S. Mission Nigeria’s social media accounts.
According to the press release: "The initiative aligns with the Mission’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s vibrant creative sector, strengthening cultural and economic ties, and celebrating the innovative spirit of Nigerian youth."
