Chargée d’Affaires Amanda Jacobsen met with Minister Denis Christel Sassou-Nguesso on November 21 to discuss ways to promote economic opportunities for both Americans and Congolese. The meeting focused on shared prosperity and examined priorities in sectors such as mining and energy.

Jacobsen stated the United States remains committed to encouraging further investment and supporting new public-private partnerships in the Republic of the Congo. Both officials also addressed immigration issues referenced in President Trump’s June 4 Presidential Proclamation, along with efforts to combat human trafficking.

The discussion highlighted the potential for increased cooperation between the two countries on economic, security, and migration matters.
