Applicants for U.S. immigrant visas are being reminded of the importance of staying involved in their visa process to avoid potential setbacks. According to the U.S. Embassy, it is the applicant’s responsibility to respond to appointment notices, attend scheduled interviews, and provide any additional documents or evidence requested by consular officers.
Failure to reply to requests from a consular officer within one year may lead to the termination process for an immigrant visa case. This could mean that applicants would have to restart their entire application.
The embassy advises applicants to promptly respond to all communications, submit required documents as directed, and regularly log into their CEAC account. "Staying engaged is the best way to keep your visa journey on track," officials stated.
