Large anti-corruption protests are scheduled to take place in Metro Manila on November 30, 2025. According to a notice from the U.S. Embassy in Manila, two major rallies will occur: one at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City, which is expected to draw around 100,000 participants, and another at Luneta Park in Manila with an estimated attendance of 5,000 people. Luneta Park is located approximately 500 meters from the Embassy Compound and four kilometers from the Seafront Compound.
In addition to these main events, there will be simultaneous demonstrations across 29 locations throughout Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The Embassy advises U.S. citizens to monitor local news for updates about protest activity that may affect their area.
The advisory states: "U.S. citizens should avoid the rallies, as even peaceful rallies/demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without warning. Foreign nationals found engaging in a protest or mass demonstration could be considered in violation of their immigration status."
The Embassy also recommends following local media and government sources for information on possible disruptions and re-routing schemes due to anticipated heavy traffic congestion and road closures near protest venues. Citizens are urged to follow instructions from local authorities and exercise caution when near large gatherings.
For further information or assistance, U.S. citizens can enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for alerts and easier location during emergencies. The U.S. Embassy can be contacted at +(63) (2) 5301-2000 during business hours or after-hours for emergencies.
