Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has announced the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem across Europe through new strategic energy partnerships. The company, which manages wholesale sales and marketing for Toyota, GR (Gazoo Racing), and Lexus vehicles as well as parts and accessories, also oversees European manufacturing and engineering operations.

Toyota currently employs more than 26,000 people in Europe and has invested over 12 billion euros in the region since 1990. Its eight manufacturing plants are located in Portugal, the UK, France, Poland, Czech Republic, and Turkey. There are about 14.7 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles on European roads today. Drivers have access to a network of 28 National Marketing and Sales Companies along with approximately 2,800 retail sales outlets across 53 countries including EU member states, the UK, EFTA countries, Israel, Turkey, and other Eastern European nations.

In 2024 alone, TME sold over 1.2 million vehicles in Europe, representing a market share of 7.1%. More information is available at www.toyota-europe.com.

The company stated: "Toyota believes that when people are free to move, anything is possible." It added: "In the pursuit of 'Mobility for All', Toyota aims to create safer, more connected, inclusive and sustainable mobility to achieve its mission of producing 'Happiness for All'."

In Europe specifically, TME has launched the KINTO mobility brand offering various services in 20 countries. The company is also expanding business-to-business sales of zero-emission fuel cell products and providing engineering support.

Toyota emphasized its commitment to sustainability by contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and working toward carbon neutrality throughout its European operations. According to TME: "A historic leader in CO2 reduction in Europe, TME aims to achieve 100% CO2 reduction in all new vehicles in Western Europe by 2035 and will continue to offer a full range of electrified powertrains to customers across the region with its hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery and fuel cell electric vehicles."
