Dr Janina Jänsch, who leads the SME department at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, has been appointed to the Supervisory Board of KfW Capital. She becomes the second representative from the Federal Government on the board, joining Dr Eva Wimmer, Director General Financial Markets Policy at the Federal Ministry of Finance. Dr Sabine Hepperle, who previously held this position as Head of SME Policy at the same ministry, stepped down from her role in June.
Dr Jörg Goschin, Chief Executive Officer of KfW Capital, commented: “We sincerely thank Dr Hepperle, who worked on the Supervisory Board with great personal commitment and technical expertise to strengthen start-up and growth finance in Germany and Europe since our launch in 2018. At the same time, we warmly welcome Dr Jänsch to the Supervisory Board. We look forward to receiving her valuable advice and important impetus for the further development of KfW Capital and the VC ecosystem.”
The Supervisory Board consists of seven members: two representatives from federal ministries (Dr Janina Jänsch for Economic Affairs and Energy; Dr Eva Wimmer for Finance), three from venture capital (Andreas Haug, Dr Judith Kölzer-Söding, Dr Maximilian Zimmerer), and two from KfW’s Executive Board (Stefan Wintels as Chair; Dr Stefan Peiss as Vice-Chair).
Further information about all members is available on KfW Capital’s website.
