Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses will launch in India on December 1, targeting athletes, sports enthusiasts, and general consumers. The new eyewear will be available for pre-sale through Sunglass Hut and at leading optical retailers across the country, with prices starting at INR 41,800.
The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses feature a fully integrated camera for hands-free photo and video capture, open-ear speakers, and IPX4 water resistance to withstand high-intensity activities. Users can expect up to eight hours of battery life on a single charge, with an additional 48 hours provided by the charging case. The device supports high-resolution 3K video recording and is equipped with built-in Meta AI for instant information and performance insights.
According to the company, "Oakley Meta HSTN integrates Meta AI directly into the glasses, transforming them into a performance-ready AI companion. Athletes can ask Meta AI for fast, real-time insights and hands-free assistance. Whether checking surf conditions, getting wind analysis before a golf swing, or recording a moment to share on Stories, users simply say, 'Hey Meta' to activate their assistant."
A new feature allows users to interact with Meta AI in Hindi by enabling the language option through Device Settings in the Meta AI app. This update uses Sarvam’s language tools and enables functions such as asking questions or making calls entirely in Hindi.
Another addition is Celebrity AI Voice within Meta AI. One of the first voices available is that of Deepika Padukone in English. The service offers several celebrity voices for user selection.
In terms of payment capabilities, Oakley plans to introduce secure UPI Lite payments via QR code scanning using the smart glasses. Payments will be processed through WhatsApp-linked bank accounts without needing a phone.
The product line includes six frame and lens color combinations that are Rx-ready: Warm Grey with PRIZM Ruby Lenses; Black with PRIZM Polar Black Lenses; Brown Smoke with PRIZM Polar Deep-Water Lenses; Black with Transitions Amethyst Lenses; Clear with Transitions Grey Lenses; and Black with Clear Lenses.
