The U.S. Embassy in Majuro has announced a vacancy for the position of Security Guard, with applications open from November 25 to December 5, 2025. The full-time role is based in Majuro, Marshall Islands, and offers an annual salary of $11,917.
The embassy stated that the position is open to all interested applicants. Candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust security clearance and may be subject to a background investigation and pre-employment medical exam. The appointment is permanent, contingent on successful completion of a probationary period.
Applicants can qualify under one of three options: no experience but secondary education; four years of relevant work experience with middle school education; or seven years of relevant work experience with primary school education. Educational records are required as part of the application process.
Language requirements include Level 3 proficiency (good working knowledge) in Marshallese and Level 1 proficiency (rudimentary knowledge) in English. Job duties involve providing security for embassy personnel and facilities through access control, visitor screening, and use of various security systems and equipment.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of emergency response procedures, familiarity with security equipment, and awareness of local customs. Skills needed include operating security control panels, emergency alarms, communication equipment, fire extinguishers, personal protective gear such as batons or handcuffs, and Automated External Defibrillators. The job may require extended periods of walking or standing in different weather conditions and flexible shift schedules including nights, weekends, or holidays.
