On November 24, 2025, Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended congratulations to Latvia on the occasion of its 107th anniversary of independence.

"As a model NATO Ally, we commend Latvia’s pledge to meet the 5 percent of GDP defense spending commitment in 2026.
