On November 21, 2025, a concert by Julion Alvarez is scheduled to take place at Soberania Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua. The event is expected to draw large crowds and cause significant traffic disruptions, particularly along Carretera Masaya near Metrocentro and in the surrounding areas.

The U.S. Embassy in Managua has issued a security alert advising U.S. citizens of possible road closures and increased risk of pickpocketing or other crimes of opportunity in crowded areas during the concert. Drivers are encouraged to keep vehicle windows up, doors locked, and carry a cell phone for emergencies.

The Embassy provided specific guidance: "Avoid demonstrations or large gatherings and leave the area immediately if you are unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests. Do not participate in demonstrations. Foreigners, including U.S.-Nicaraguan dual nationals, risk arrest or expulsion if they participate in protests. The Nicaraguan government may treat dual nationals as only Nicaraguan citizens, in which case the U.S. Embassy may not be notified or granted consular access."

Additionally, the alert advises against attempting to drive through large groups or barricades and recommends ensuring an adequate supply of food and water in case of disruptions. Citizens are reminded to check that their U.S. passports have at least six months’ validity and to monitor local media for updates.

The country remains under a Level 3 Travel Advisory due to concerns such as arbitrary enforcement of laws, limited healthcare availability, and risks of wrongful detention for U.S. nationals by the Government of Nicaragua. The advisory urges reconsideration of travel plans to Nicaragua and notes that disruptive events can occur with little warning.
