The U.S. Embassy in Guinea has announced details about the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship, a Fulbright Program initiative designed for mid-career professionals with leadership potential. The program offers participants from Guinea the opportunity to spend one year in the United States engaging in non-degree graduate study, leadership development, and professional collaboration with American peers.
According to the embassy, “Through academic study and professional development, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship creates connections between U.S. and foreign leaders to build expertise in fields of critical importance to advance societal and institutional capacity, promote human rights and freedoms, ensure sustainable environments, and develop thriving communities.”
The fellowship was established in 1978 to honor former Senator and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey. Its aim is to foster lasting ties between professionals from the United States and other countries by providing future leaders with exposure to U.S. higher education, society, culture, and professional organizations.

Applicants must also have not participated recently in State Department exchange programs or attended graduate school in the U.S. for more than one academic year within seven years prior to application.
