The Yuanta Happiness Day event, organized by Yuanta Financial Holding Company and the Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation, has reached its fourteenth year. Over this period, more than 9,000 personalized gift packs have been distributed to children in remote areas across Taiwan.

On November 15, 128 students from Chung Ho Elementary School in Taichung City, Jiyun Keng Elementary School in Nantou County, and Wan Ho Elementary School in Changhua County participated in activities at Janfusun Environmental Education Park. The event included recreational experiences and an ecological guided tour aimed at fostering environmental awareness among the children.

This year’s theme focused on environmental education. Students toured the Janfusun Environmental Education Park, which is certified by Taiwan’s National Environmental Research Academy. Instructors led sessions on topics such as coffee bean cultivation and the role of vegetation in soil and water conservation on hillsides.

One student shared their excitement about riding a Ferris wheel for the first time. Principal Hui-Ling Chang of Chung Ho Elementary School noted that mountain and forest education is part of their curriculum and said, “Through the Yuanta Happiness Day activities, the students’ learning horizon were extended from Baileng Canal to Gukeng in Yunlin, and as the weather started to turn into winter, the clothes in the Gift Packs were able to accompany the children right away, which was very warm.” Principal Chin-Huang Chen of Wan Ho Elementary School added: “Love in the world always brings happiness,” he believes that it should be “Yuanta’s love brings happiness,” and that through today’s activities, he deeply felt that the children in the remote areas had been seen.

A representative from Yuanta Foundation stated that educational impact comes not only from classroom instruction but also from life experiences. They emphasized that exposure to various environmental education settings helps children learn resource conservation and how to coexist with nature. Since 2012, Yuanta Happiness Day has supported over 300 remote schools and social welfare organizations throughout Taiwan. The foundation highlighted that volunteer involvement transforms happiness into both a tangible gift and a meaningful encounter. Both organizations plan to continue supporting public welfare initiatives so more children can pursue their dreams with encouragement.
