Banco Santander México has completed the migration of its entire technology infrastructure to Gravity, the bank's global cloud-based platform. This marks a significant step in the digital transformation of Mexico’s banking sector, making Santander México the first systemic bank in the country to fully transition its systems to the cloud.

According to Banco Santander México, this migration will allow for faster and more secure access to transaction data, reduce the time needed to implement new features, and support more frequent updates to applications. The bank stated that these changes are expected to enhance customer experience by providing faster and more robust banking services.

The new system enables Santander México to process over 250 billion transactions each year, with peak capacity reaching 38,000 transactions per second without service interruptions.

A representative from Santander said: "This full migration to the cloud will enable Santander México to get faster, simpler and more secure access to data on every transaction; cut the time needed to implement new features; and allow for more frequent app updates. All of this will improve the experience, speed and value that the bank offers its customers, who will now enjoy faster and more powerful banking services."

Santander’s Gravity platform was developed using advanced technologies. Following its implementation, a magazine recognized Santander as the world’s most innovative bank.
