State Department Senior Advisor Jonathan Askonas is visiting Georgia to discuss the country’s potential role in supporting the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). The TRIPP transportation route was established following the August 8 peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which was mediated by the United States.

During his visit, Dr. Askonas toured the Sadakhlo border crossing. This facility was constructed and largely equipped with support from the United States.

He is also scheduled to meet with officials from Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government Administration, and representatives of international financial institutions.

"We are excited to welcome State Department representative Jonathan Askonas (Senior Advisor) to Georgia."
