Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a meeting with Constantinos Kombos, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus. The discussion focused on strengthening transatlantic cooperation as Cyprus prepares to assume the presidency of the EU Council from January to June 2026. Secretary Rubio expressed appreciation for Cyprus’s role in supporting regional security and its efforts in delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza. The two officials also explored ways to enhance energy security and expand collaboration in this area.
