Jean-Yves Fillion appointed as CEO for Societe Generale Americas

Jean-Yves Fillion has been named Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale Americas, replacing Stephane About, who is retiring. The appointment will take effect on February 2, 2026, pending regulatory approval.

Fillion brings four decades of experience from BNP Paribas, where he most recently served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for BNP Paribas USA. His previous roles at the bank included CEO of BNP Paribas USA, Chairman and CEO of CIB Americas. He has spent over thirty years working in the United States and is recognized for his knowledge of the US market and established client relationships.

Fillion’s career at BNP Paribas began in 1984. In addition to his most recent posts, he also held positions such as Head of Client Coverage in North America, Head of Structured Finance Americas, Head of Acquisition Finance, and Head of Media & Telecom Finance. He is a French-American citizen with academic credentials from Dauphine University (Master’s degree), HEC Paris (MBA), and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
