Sun Life U.S. has announced that its benefits will now be accessible through Pasito, an AI-driven platform focused on benefits education and communication. The integration aims to simplify the enrollment process for employees by providing real-time data analysis and personalized plan information.

Pasito connects with over 200 payroll administrators nationwide and uses data such as financial status, dependents, and eligibility to help employees make informed decisions about their benefits options. The platform reads plan documents directly to offer accurate details tailored to each user.

Joi Tillman, president of Group Benefits at Sun Life U.S., said, "The benefits landscape is complex, and people want support in choosing a benefits package that complements their health insurance to give them the care and coverage they need. Our benefits fill coverage gaps that help improve health outcomes as well as provide financial protection, but many people don't understand this when choosing their benefits. Through Pasito's technology and our in-depth educational materials, our members will experience enhanced decision support so they can choose the benefits that work within their budget and meet their needs."

Recent findings from Limra's Benefit Employee Attitude Tracker (BEAT) report indicate that while more than half of employees feel confident about dental, medical, retirement, and life insurance choices, fewer than 50% feel similarly informed about short- or long-term disability or supplemental health coverages like accident or critical illness insurance.

Pasito provides employers with customized microsites and automated communications aligned with company branding. These resources can link directly to an employer’s chosen enrollment platform and are designed to offer year-round support for HR teams managing employee benefit communications. According to Limra’s BEAT report, 86% of employees who felt their employer communicated well about benefits also felt confident in their enrollment decisions.

Pauline Roteta, CEO of Pasito, stated: "Benefits should be a source of support, not stress. Our relationship with Sun Life reflects a shared mission: to meet people where they are and guide them through some of life's biggest decisions to ensure every employee has the coverage they deserve for themselves and their families."

Beginning January 1, 2026, Sun Life group policyholders may be referred to Pasito but must contract directly with the platform for access.
