As an official sponsor of the UK's Pavilion at COP 30, the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is using its UK Corporate Leaders Group (CLG UK) to organize high-level events and bring together experts from various sectors. The initiative aims to strengthen engagement between businesses and government during the climate conference.

“Now is the time to step up and bring people together — to join the dots between innovation, education and policy,” said Eliot Whittington, Chief Systems Change Officer at CISL.

This year, education has become a major focus for the University of Cambridge. The Faculty of Education is concentrating its efforts on the theme of climate justice.

Christine Özden, Global Director for Climate Education at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, is highlighting the important role that education plays at COP 30 in countering misinformation about climate change.

Steve Davison, Strategic Director of Cambridge Zero, is attending COP 30 to support universities' roles as drivers of systemic change. Together with the University of Toronto, he will lead a Network of Networks that brings together more than 30 higher education climate networks worldwide. This effort seeks to boost ambition, improve conditions for climate solutions and action, and enhance coordination across the sector.

The Centre for Climate Repair is also participating in COP 30 to further discussions about possible additional measures that could help lessen some of the worst impacts of climate change.
