Facebook Marketplace is introducing several updates aimed at making the platform more engaging and easier to use, especially for young adults in the United States and Canada. The company reports that one out of four young adult daily active users in these regions visit Marketplace each day.
Among the new features is “collections,” which allows users to group Marketplace listings and invite friends to join. Users can save a listing, start a collection, choose its privacy settings, add friends, and share updates through various Meta-owned platforms such as Feed, Messenger, and WhatsApp. In addition, Meta is testing “collaborative buying,” enabling friends to participate together in chats with sellers to coordinate purchases.
Users will now be able to react and comment directly on listings. This interaction helps others assess item quality and discover unique products. As users engage with items they like, Marketplace will adjust future recommendations to better match their interests.
Meta is also testing an AI-powered feature that suggests questions buyers might want to ask sellers based on listing details and ongoing conversations. For vehicle listings—a top search category among young adults—AI insights will provide information such as engine options, safety ratings, transmission types, seating capacity, reviews, and price comparisons within the same interface.
To expand inventory choices for shoppers interested in vintage fashion and electronics, Facebook Marketplace has integrated partner listings from eBay and Poshmark into its feed. These partner items are marked with icons on their images; users can view seller information before being redirected to the partner’s site for checkout.
The platform is updating its shipping process by offering buyers a clearer checkout experience. Total costs including shipping and taxes are displayed upfront along with order status notifications throughout the transaction.
“Stay tuned for more updates in 2026 as we continue to improve the Facebook Marketplace experience for both buyers and sellers,” according to Meta’s announcement.
