Veronika Bienert will step down as CEO of Siemens Financial Services (SFS), with Kevin Zander named as her successor. Bienert, who has led SFS since 2021, will focus on transferring the finance function of Siemens AG in the coming months.
Bienert reflected on her tenure: “The last ten years have been characterized by a profound transformation of the real, digital and financial worlds as well as major changes in market conditions and customer requirements. It’s been a great privilege to have led and reoriented Siemens Financial Services during this time of unrelenting change and transformation, while always focusing on the creation of sustainable business value for our customers and our company. In the months ahead, I’ll be devoting myself to the transfer of the finance function of Siemens AG,” emphasized Veronika Bienert. “With his extensive expertise in the global financing business, his demonstrated understanding of technology and his sound strategic sense, Kevin is ideally suited to shape the next chapter of Siemens Financial Services, supporting our ONE Tech Company program. I’d like to wish him and the entire SFS team every success and the strategic foresight needed to provide financing that makes a difference.”
During her leadership at SFS, Bienert oversaw a business model that maintained reliable returns on equity and positioned SFS as a key enabler for Siemens AG's industrial operations as well as a bridge to partners within its broader ecosystem. Since joining Siemens’ Managing Board in 2024, she has also overseen services portfolios including Siemens Real Estate and Global Business Services.
Kevin Zander commented on his appointment: “As CEO and Managing Director, I’m looking forward to assuming responsibility for Siemens Financial Services,” said Kevin Zander. “I’d particularly like to thank Veronika Bienert and the entire Siemens Managing Board for the confidence they’ve placed in me. SFS combines technological know-how with financial expertise in a unique way that enables it to act as a long-term supporter and integrator for Siemens’ businesses. My goal is to continue Veronika Bienert’s successful work and – together with Andreas Rudolf and the entire SFS team – further develop our business across our strategic priorities and to the advantage of our customers and partners.”
Zander has served as CEO of SFS's Commercial Finance Business Unit since 2024 after previously being Chief Risk Officer for its Equity Finance Business Unit. Before joining SFS in 2021, he worked at McKinsey & Company and Commerzbank. He studied industrial engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) — formerly University of Karlsruhe — before earning a doctorate from Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU).
