Graham Mayer has assumed the role of Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore. His appointment follows a career that includes several diplomatic positions within the U.S. Department of State.

Before his current assignment, Mayer was Minister Counselor for Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi from 2020 to 2025. He also served as Acting Director of the Office of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives Affairs between 2017 and 2019. Previously, Mayer held the position of Deputy Minister Counselor for Political Affairs at the embassy in New Delhi from 2014 to 2017.

His earlier roles include assignments as a Political Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, Deputy Political Counselor in Sarajevo, and Political-Military Affairs Officer in the Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs at the Department of State. Additionally, Mayer’s overseas service includes postings in Beijing, Shenyang, and Lima.

Mayer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Haverford College and a Master of Science in national security resource strategy from National Defense University.
